Julia Weltman has been practising yoga since 1990.

“As a Teacher and as a student, yoga is the complete support for all physical and mental aspects of life.

My daily practice varies with regard to what I’m doing, for example; teaching two or more classes a day, playing tennis etc. It usually includes chanting, pranayama and meditation. At least once a month I attend Masterclass for teachers and a chanting class too.

I have been fortunate enough to visit India many times now and on several occasions we studied at the Krishnamacharya Yoga Mandiram in Chennai, which is a yoga centre founded for the teachings of Krishnamacharya.

Krishnamacharya was a revered yoga master and was B.K.S. Iyengar’s teacher, as well as teacher to Indra Devi and Patthabi Jois.

Krishnamacharya and his son, Sri T.K.V. Desikachar, are sadly no longer with us but their style and tradition lives on through the KYM and their many dedicated students. My personal tutor and mentor is Gill Lloyd, whose personal tutor and mentor was T.K.V. Desikachar.”
