What is Yoga?
Yoga is holistic self-empowerment, a body based function that helps us to release unwanted tension, to rebalance not just the body, but also the breath and the mind.
Krishnamacharya answered this question with “Yoga is peace”.
I’m new to yoga. Where should I start?
If you have injuries or conditions that may affect your practice, it might be wise to have a couple of 1-1 sessions, to familiarise yourself with basic postures, the format and terminology.
However, if you are relatively injury free you may prefer to go straight into a group class.
What style of yoga will I be learning?
The tradition I offer is following the teachings of Krishnamacharya and his son Desikachar.
The practice will combine an holistic approach, with alternatives to suit everyone’s needs.
How much yoga experience do I need?
No experience is required, but an open mind and patience are helpful.
What classes do you offer?
Please see the Classes page.
Do you offer private classes?
Yes I offer private tuition both online and in-person. Please get in touch to find out more and discuss further
What should I wear?
It is important to wear clothes which allow easy movement, and layers so that you are comfortable warmed up and cooled down.
With Covid in mind we must have air sources, so bring extra warmth if you are inclined to be chilly.
What should I bring?
Bring a mat if you have one, please ensure it is a ‘yoga’ mat, not pilates (too thick for standing work). I do have mats to buy or borrow.
Can I eat before class?
Try not to eat close to the class, as this can make you uncomfortable.
Do you have a place where I can change?
There are toilets where you can change.
What about parking?
There is parking available.
What if I'm running late?
If only just late, please enter as quickly and quietly as possible, if more than 10 minutes please do not enter.
